Congratulations! You’re getting married!
I love weddings! I love the bringing together of families and friends! I love the traditions: The father giving away his daughter; the hats and fascinators; the speeches; the laughter and tears; the first dance; the proud granny; little flower girls taking over the dancefloor.
I am a storyteller and there really is no better story to tell. My approach to photographing weddings is unobtrusive and natural – I want to document your big day as it happens.
I like to keep things simple – I have one package at one price. For an investment of £750, I offer a full day’s coverage from bridal preparations through to the first dance. My package also includes the following:
- A minimum of 300 beautifully edited high-resolution images (and web-friendly copies) delivered on disk, within 6 weeks of your wedding.
- A face-to-face meeting (or phone/Skype call) to go over your wedding plans approximately 1 month before your big day.
- Travel costs within 30 miles of north Leeds (although I welcome enquiries for weddings further afield too!).
So if you’re getting married and you think we’d be a good fit, drop me a line and let’s meet for a coffee (or glass of celebratory fizz!) and a chat.
“We have received the photos and are absolutely delighted with them. The wedding was so hectic and seemed at the time to have passed in a blur so looking through the photos was such an opportunity to sit back and take stock. It was such a happy day for us and you captured it perfectly. Thank you so much, we really love the photos. The only problem now is deciding on which ones to frame and which ones will make the album :) Thanks again and best wishes”Linda & Jonnie
Securing your date
So you’re interested in booking me? Great! In order to secure your wedding date, I require all my clients to sign a contract and pay a deposit upfront. Once I have received both of these, I’m all yours and won’t be taking any other bookings on your big day!
Before your wedding
In the period between booking me and your wedding taking place, I am always at the end of an email or telephone line, if you have any questions or just want to talk weddings.
About 6 weeks before your big day, I will contact you to arrange a pre-wedding meet up. This is really important, as it will give us a chance to get to know one another a bit before I shoot the biggest day of your life. It will also allow us to discuss timings and the all-important shots you don’t want me to miss. If you live miles away from Leeds and meeting up is just not feasible, we can chat over the phone or Skype instead. At this point I will also ask you to settle the remaining balance.
Dum dum de dum – the BIG day!
This is the day you’ve been building up to and planning for months! I can’t wait to be there and capture all the moments that will make the day uniquely yours.
My coverage is from bridal preparation through to first dance. I will arrive promptly and be dressed smartly. I come with camera (and back-up), lenses, flashgun, and enough memory cards and batteries to shake a stick at! I am also fully insured, with both professional indemnity and public liability insurance.
My approach to your day is unobtrusive and I aim to capture moments and interactions as they happen, rather than lots of posed shots. However, I do like to schedule 10-15 minutes at some point after the ceremony to concentrate on getting some really beautiful bride and groom portraits, but other than that I’m happiest shooting the candid moments between yourselves and your guests.
Other than a break to rest and refuel, whilst you and your guests are enjoying the wedding breakfast (people eating don’t make for the most flattering of photographs!), I’m shooting all day long.
At the end of your wedding day, I will return home (and back up the images multiple times - of course!), with sore feet, but a massive smile on my face. Because, is there really a better job in the world?!
After the wedding
Because I’m super-excited to share with you some of my favourite images from your day, I normally provide a sneak peek of a handful of images on my Facebook page, the day after the wedding. Please feel free to share these with your family and friends!
After your wedding, I spend the next few weeks culling and editing the images. When I shoot a wedding, I take a lot of photographs. An important part of my job and why bride and grooms hire a professional wedding photographer, is to sort through the images and eliminate repetitive shots, bad shots, test shots (where I take a shot to test the exposure/lighting) and eye blinks. I then individually edit all of the remaining images and provide you with a mix of colour and black and white photographs.
Within 6 weeks of your wedding, you will receive a disk containing a minimum of 300 high-resolution images, which will tell the story of your beautiful day. These are yours to print or make albums from, as many times as you like and be rest assured I don’t subject you to any sales pitch for further products.
After you have received your photographs, and with your permission, I would love to share some photographs of your special day on my blog. This provides you with an opportunity to share your day all over again with your family and friends!
“Just to let you know we've received the photos and we absolutely love them. They tell the story of our special day the whole way through, and we just want to thank you so much for capturing everything and so discretely may I add. All the best for your future weddings”Louise & Pete
