My maternity and family photo shoots take place outside, normally at a location that I recommend. I have spent many an hour dragging my (sometimes unwilling!) children to scout for suitable locations and I know what type of places work best.
“Wow, wow, wow! You really are incredibly talented Clare. The photos are amazing - thank you so much! You have captured our boys' (slightly larger than life) personalities perfectly and we will treasure these photos forever. I can't pick a favourite so they'll all be going on the wall! Thank you so much once again. All our love, the Perrys xx”Victoria, James, Benjamin & Samuel: Selby
The shoot normally lasts an hour or two. I like to schedule them for either early morning or late afternoon to ensure the best light. Harsh midday sun does nobody any favours! However, I am more than happy to work around the nap schedules of your little ones.
The photo shoot includes a mix of posed and candid shots. I find that the best shots happen once everyone has warmed up and forgotten that the camera is there.
Newborn shoots take place in your family home. I will need to take the photographs in a room with plenty of natural light. I also like to take photographs in the baby's cot/nursery and on the bed too.
Unsurprisingly, the baby tends to set the pace for the shoot. I'm happy to stay as long as you want me to and I can take photos between the (never ending!) feeds and changes and take advantage of getting some lovely snoozy shots when your baby is sleeping. I can be as flexible as required - newborns are a law unto themselves!
What should we wear?
Simple, plain coloured clothes tend to work best. I recommend wearing clothes that are tonally similar, but not too matchy-matchy. I also love kids in dress up! If your child has a favourite princess or super hero outfit, feel free to bring this to change into halfway during the shoot!
“We love the photographs Clare, they're brilliant!”Kathryn, Nic, Ruby & Jacob: Leeds
What if it rains or my child is poorly?
Cloud and light drizzle is not normally a problem, however if the weather is torrential we will reschedule for another day. Similarly if anybody is ill, we will reschedule for another day.
How much does it cost?
I charge £150 for a photo shoot. This cost includes the photo shoot itself and a disk containing a minimum of 30 high resolution fully-edited images, with personal printing rights. I also provide web-friendly sized copies of all these images, so you are able to share the photographs with your family and friends online. These will be sent to you within a fortnight of the photo shoot having taken place.
Included in my cost, is travel to locations within Leeds, Bradford, York, Harrogate, Wakefield and everywhere in between. I am happy to travel further afield, but this is at additional cost.
Gift vouchers are available to purchase. The full cost of the voucher (£150) will be required at the time of ordering and the voucher must be redeemed within 12 months of purchase.
“Thank you so much for the pictures - they're amazing!! It's a good job we're building an extension - we need the extra wall space for some big prints! Thanks again”Lucy, Darren & Harry: Malton
